ST. PAUL, Minn. - March 12, 2010 - This April, the V-Day global movement, that last year produced more than 4,200 benefit events in the U.S. and around the world, is touching St. Paul. All of these events are completely constructed by volunteer activists trying to education people on the reality of violence that still takes place against women and girls by hosting productions of playwright and founder Eve Ensler's award winning play, The Vagina Monologues. "Statistics say that a woman is abused every 15 seconds in the United States," said Sarah Glover, St. Paul Vagina Monologues Director and Organizer. With assistance from The Actors Theater of Minnesota, three performances will be held in St. Paul and all of the proceeds raised will go straight to a local women's shelter, Cornerstone of Minnesota.
